Today's Classical Corner... Brahms!
Written in 1894, and dedicated to the clarinetist Richard Muhlfield, after meeting and hearing him. These were the last chamber pieces Brahms composed before his death, and are considered two of the great masterpieces in the clarinet repertoire.
They ushered in a new era, and inspired many composers thereafter to write for the combination of clarinet and piano.
