The discussion here is a bit general, but still sheds some light on the issue. music is extremely important, obviously, and could help/harm the visuals big time. whether the production is looking for 'old and familiar' or 'new and unexpected', the music has to be uniform as if 'a language of its own'. i believe 2 very good current examples of this are Fargo and The Bridge, two different series, with two very different tones to their sound - and both work utterly well.
Can you think of a tv series/movies have you seen where the music played a big role for you, and made an an impression on you?
