A French pianist/composer/pedagogue. the first pianist to perform all the piano sonatas of Beethoven in Paris, and did scientific studies of hand techniques in piano playing and attempted to replace traditional drilling with systematic piano methods, among other things. At the risk of sounding 'limited', this piece very much reminds me of Chopin.
