Domenico Scarlatti - Piano Sonate in F minor L.118

Today's Classical Corner... Scarlatti, mostly remembered for his 555 keyboard sonatas, written approximately from 1719 to 1757!

This sonata has an Iberian nocturnal character in its gentle, melodic flow. Lovely, as it opens with a melancholy theme of passionate character, anticipating, as the expressiveness of the Romantic period. Of course, it was composed in the 'Baroque' era, but here one can hear a precursor to Romanticism.
