The seminal 1960 recording by Max Roach which took on the emerging civil rights movement with clarity and intended purpose. Outstanding ensemble that included Abby Lincoln, Booker Little, Julian Priester, and on this tune that powerful and burning narrative solo by the great Coleman Hawkins.
