Jon is the father of a whole generations of drummers, having performed with many legends.

On stage, Christensen had his head turned to one side so that one ear was facing the audience, the reason being that he was deaf in one ear.

Despite this, or in spite of it, he was one of the most sensitive and expressive drummers in the history of jazz!
