I'll never forget how i learned of the great Saint-Saens. Thru my 9th grade English teacher. He was a colorful character, who embraced us with the love of culture, often thru humor. once he couldn't get our attention, so he stood up on his table, and took of his shoe, in order to show us that he had a hole in his sock. needless to say, he had earned our attention.
this is the kind of teacher all our children should have - funny and compassionate, and one who relates to us as we are!
